Falconetti + 10,000 Things The Primrose, Leeds Friday, 26 March 2004
Falconetti, despite not having a singer due to a car accident, really hit the spot. Many people maybe attempting this 'type of thing' these days but this group make what they are doing seem natural. Not knowing enough about the genre and having a Swiss cheese memory, partly as a result of days of drinking far too much, I would simply say it was all very atmospheric bordering on dark even. The drumming appeared flawless, the guitar parts were not over embellished, the programming work was sweet and if I remember correctly there were some cleverly employed samples. On top of this, the guy, who was effectively the front man, timed the use of his horn parts to perfection. It really relaxed me and I needed to chill out thank you very much!
